Comments from the Land of the Giants

Here are some quotes from this morning on Giants radio station KNBR from Giants broadcaster, Duane Kuiper:

"These are going to be four games that are going to be highly motivating for everybody.  There isn’t any doubt that the Dodgers want to celebrate at home.  They probably wouldn’t mind it at all to celebrate at home, against the World Champions.  And the Giants don’t want it to happen.  We watched Arizona do it, and we didn’t like it very much in 2011.

"They’re not holding a big team meeting and saying 'we can’t let the Dodgers do this.'  They all know it.  And they all talked in their own little groups about it.  It’s going to be a highly motivating series.  I don’t think that this is a series where you’re going to see Adrianza for a start.  I don’t think that’s going to happen.    I think these are games where our fans want to see their guys on the field.  And I think the Giants will play them tough."

On Brian Wilson:

"Mike (Krukow) and I will find him.  It’ll have to be convenient for all parties.  It’s not like we’re going to go into the Dodger clubhouse, although we have done that maybe once or twice to find somebody.  I think it was Kent.  But, we’re going to find him and we will give him a big hug.  And we will make our point about him wearing Dodger blue in the best way that ball players make points, and that’s by busting his chops.  Just tell him that he couldn’t look more ridiculous.  The beard looks great but the uniform really sucks on him.  And that’s how you make your point, and he knows it’s coming.  And Kent accepted it and he laughed.  Kent was always one to fire back telling us we weren’t looking that great either.

"I don’t think any of us will forget what he meant to this franchise.  And that will never go away.  I am looking forward to seeing him because not only was he a character, but he was really the backbone of that bullpen for that great run in 2010.

"Up until the day he signed with the Dodgers, Mike and I would get maybe a text from him once every three games.  Because he was watching and once he signed with the Dodgers, the texts stopped.  Also we’ll mention that to him today when we see him.  Now he’s texting Vin Scully and Charlie Steiner.

"The really interesting part is that they’re coming back here for three.  You know how our fans love their Giants, their ex-Giants and their Giants with great history.  Very few players were loved more than he was and I think they’re going to give him a hearty-hearty standing ovation when he comes in.  And they’ll do that once, and then they will not do that again.  I think that’s very appropriate."

Commenter #1  "Whoa, True Blue LA has a lot of comments these days."

Commenter # 2 "Do they show up late to post comments and then stop posting around the 7th inning?"

Commenter # 3: "Are there cyber beach balls they can pass back and forth while doing the wave with butterfly knives in their teeth?"
